The wedding bouquet trends I’m known for (& why brides love them)
The bouquet veil: the trend you didn’t know you needed until you saw it everywhere. Spoiler alert: I’m the one who started it.
From the iconic bouquet veil to the bedazzled anthurium and feathered anthurium, my designs have redefined what’s possible in wedding florals. These groundbreaking trends have not only inspired countless brides but have also been adopted by some of the biggest names in the floral industry. When you book with me, you’re not just getting flowers—you’re getting the original artistry and innovation that started it all. Because no one delivers the vision like Valen Ibarra.
Let me take you back to the beginning. The idea for the bouquet veil came to me because, honestly, I don’t believe in boring bouquets. Weddings deserve drama, and florals should turn heads. One day, I thought, - I’m tired of the long ribbon strands let me try some tulle, then I pushed it further by adding the tulle to the anthurium/roses. I was thinking poofy like Marie Antoinette. I definitely started the bouquet veil trend, not sure if I was the first person to put tulle over flowers but I was definitely the first person to put it in wedding bouquets. I just wanted to give the wedding industry something HOT. It was bold, different, and completely over the top—in the best way possible.
Fast forward, and now the bouquet veil is everywhere. It’s wild seeing how something I dreamed up has taken off, from Pinterest boards to wedding magazines. Some of the biggest names in the floral world are hopping on this trend, and honestly? I love it for them. Imitation is flattery, right? Seeing other florists pick up my design style / artistic expression tells me I’m doing the right thing. The support of the flowerettes (see my broadcast group on IG) florist friends and brides fills my heart with so much gratitude.
But here’s the thing: booking me means you’re getting the real deal. I’m not just putting a veil on a bouquet or copying pinterest bouquets —I’m creating an unforgettable statement that brides can’t stop obsessing over. That’s the difference between trendsetters and followers.
So, if you’re looking for the OG bouquet veil experience, book me.
